Before the Hollow

Before the Hollow

Before the Hollow (Winter 2024)

Acrylic on Canvas, 120xm x 60cm

Painted in the deep quiet of winter, Before the Hollow captures the first emergence of the forest as subject — stripped of bloom, reduced to form, rhythm, and breath. The palette cools, the air thins, and what remains is the architecture of stillness itself. This work became the threshold for The Sunken Forest — a study in what survives after everything else falls away.
